Why Body Doubling Works

 

Body doubling is a proven method often used to help individuals stay focused and productive by having another person present during tasks by providing creating a structured environment conducive to productivity. It can be particularly beneficial for people with ADHD or executive function challenges, as the presence of a "body double" can provide motivation, reduce distractions, accountability, reduced procrastination, and enhanced focus.  By having someone "present", you’ll find it easier to focus, reduce procrastination, and boost productivity.  Best of all - it's introvert-friendly!

Step 2: Decide Your Focus Area

Think about the task or project you want to tackle during your session.

Popular focus areas include:​​

  • Tackling a long-overdue to-do list

  • Household tasks (cleaning, meal preparation)

Pick a time that works best for you. Sessions are available in 30, 60, or 90-minute time blocks to suit your needs. Virtual sessions are hosted on Zoom for convenience.

Step 4: Stay Focused Together

During our session:

  • We’ll start with a quick check-in to set your intentions.

  • I’ll create a supportive, distraction-free environment where you can work alongside me.

  • I’ll provide gentle accountability and encouragement throughout.

 

You’ll be amazed at how much you can accomplish with someone by your side!

 

Step 5: Wrap-Up & Reflect

At the end of the session, we’ll take a few minutes to reflect on what you accomplished and identify next steps. This ensures you leave feeling motivated and ready to keep going!
